SCED LP (Southern Chiefs Economic Development LP), is the organization replacing its predecessor corporation SCEDC.  SCED LP was formalized in the summer of 2022 and maintains the same long-term purpose as its predecessor, which is to to help enhance and strengthen the economic base of the 34 First Nations who make up the membership of SCO (Southern Chiefs’ Organization**).

The restructuring and rebranding of SCEDC into SCED LP in 2022 reflects a new vigour while maintaining our long-term purpose as well as our core values of Honesty, Respect and Humility.

SCED LP represents an opportunity for us to participate as full equal partners in private enterprise across Manitoba. It is an opportunity to help move from poverty to prosperity.  My message is clear, the south is open for business. The creation of SCED LP is the first step to taking back economic sovereignty for our people.” –  Grand Chief Jerry Daniels, Chair of the Board

The first order of business for SCED LP is to to establish long-term, strategic business partnerships with existing profitable Canadian companies, where a win-win relationship will be developed based on solid business practices, a growth strategy and a mutual belief in our core values.

The Eagle, or “Migizi” in Anishinaabe and “Wambdi” in Dakota, is considered the messenger to the Creator, or the Messenger between the humans and the Creator.     The Eagle was chosen as the Logo for SCED LP to reflect the importance of a strong economy as a messenger of hope and prosperity.

The philosophy behind SCED LP is that we are Better Together!  Meaning that we value all elements of good Business and fair Partnerships, while sharing and implementing our core values in all aspects of what we do.  Together we can help build stronger businesses, thus putting SCED LP in a better position to help improve the economic and social wellbeing of our First Nations and in fact all Manitobans.
